Cork Institute of Technology Masterplan

RKD Architects have been appointed as master planners for the Cork Institute of Technology in 2002. RKD designed the proposed Master Development Plan and since 2002 advised CIT on a number of strategic development and expansion options on the Bishopstown Campus and the environs as well as a number of other CIT facilities in Cork City Area.

The masterplanning proposals comprised a wide range of future facilities planning including indoor and field sports facilities, additional teaching and administration space, as well as student housing, amenities, and the associated circulation of pedestrians and vehicles.

The future expansion and development potential on and off campus were investigated and resulted in a strategic development plan which forms the basis of all facility planning decisions taken by the CIT. RKD continue to assist the CIT in strategic development decisions with option appraisals, feasibility studies and planning advice
